If a college asks for a description of a community you’re involved in, should I focus on one story and demonstrate my favorite parts of it through that story (sorta like common app) or should I take a more literal/get-to-the-point kinda approach?
Community SERVICE?
I think they are looking for more than the simple logistics of your involvement, but want to know why you were drawn to that activity, what have you learned (about yourself and/or the need addressed), how do you see it influencing you in the future, etc. I don’t think there is any particular ‘formula’ for your response, so however you want to do that is fine. (just make sure you are responding appropriately to the question or prompt).
I believe you’re talking about a supplement from Brown (or maybe another school has the same prompt). You could do it either way, there isn’t a formula for writing supplements.
