Just talk about an activity you enjoy. It can be as basic as you want. Some examples released by the Dean of Admissions during last admissions cycle were things like watching movies and eating popcorn with Mom, trying different kinds of smoothies in a blender and sharing them with friends, going fishing with a homemade fishing rod, and hand-grinding the lens for a homemade telescope.

does this sound okay?

I still remember the first time when I tried to pick up the heavy 120 bases instrument the largest standard accordion. When I was eight, that monster would leave my arms sore for weeks. Playing the accordion has been my favorite way of relaxing after an intense swimming practice or a day at school. Now Im eighteen. As my accordion traveled with me to a new continent, my playing the accordion is like a union between the Chinese and Western cultures, where the differences gradually blended together. Whether its in a duet with my father on his violin at a Chinese New Years party or a solo at a wedding party, Im no longer surprised by comments such as wow! I never knew you played the accordion! It became something that sets me apart from others and something that Im proud of.

Sure, why not. ;)

that's a great essay princetonwannabe. I used to play the accordian too, I remembered it was alot of fun

:S i hope you are not being sarcastic... :(

This part doesn't add to your essay at all, consider revising.

Princetonwannabe, this is an official suggestion that you get a new name if you continue posting here :-P

lol why would you think I'm sarcastic. I rarely know people who play accordion so I just had to comment
