<p>Michigan recalculates gpas. So your academic courses from Sophomore and Junior years. If you increased both years then your gpa should be higher. Michigan is big on GPAs.</p>

<p>If the reason your grades are low is because of your Freshman year, then I would say your chances of getting into Michigan are excellent. Even if that's not the case, and your "Michigan GPA" is 3.5, given your standardized test scores, I'd say you have a very good shot at getting into Michigan.</p>
