Shoud I apply to Columbia?

I am looking at many colleges and wonder if I should add Columbia on my list. I believe that it is a great school, and therefor is really hard to get in... Do you think I might have chance of being admitted so I should at least give a try?

[ *] SAT: Not good... hope I did well in this December test
[ *] ACT : 30... (35 math 33 science but 22 reading) [mid 50% was 28-32]
[ *] SAT IIs: 790 Math IIC 680 Physics (I will retake them on January if they accept them)
[ *] GPA: 3.95 (only 10th and 11th)
[ *] Rank: No rank
[ *] Other stats: I have 6 APs and 1 college course(Calculus II)
AP test: Calculus AB - 5

[ *] EC: Debate... I have an an award from regional tournament. Chess, student congress...
My EC is about average at my school...
[ *] Essays: I think they are good
[ *] Teacher Recs: Did not read
[ *] Counselor Rec: Did not read
[ *] Hook (if any): I am an international student if that is considered as a hook...There are some other factors but I won't specify it in the application.

[ *] State or Country: Originally from Korea, currently residing in South Dakota...(and yes, SD is a "state")
[ *] School Type: Roman Catholic
[ *] Ethnicity: Asian
[ *] Gender: (Prefer not to specify)

Other factors: I am originally
General Comments: I am not sure

Grades are okay... not amazing. Scores are low for Columbia. EC's are really lacking if that's what you plan on putting.

being from south dakota is good, not many sd students here.

learn more about the college itself. Determine if it is your proper "fit". Then apply regardless of whether you think you will get in or not. Afterall if you don't you will never know.
You have a background that is extremely similiar to mine and if you work to improve that reading score, take some extra steps to get your ec's a level higher, and send in a well thought out application that truly expresses yourself, then the question of whether you should apply or not is truly insignificant. Focus on the present my Korean dong pyo.
You may think that improving your ec's at this point in your senior year is useless. However from a practical perspective they may send you a waitlist letter and you want to prepare for all scenarios. Regardless of this if your ECs are your true passions then you would be doing this anyways.

I am a gender non-comforting student so I want to go to NYC... That is why I am looking at Columbia...

No... I will not write a "coming out" essay which they probably receive more than enough...

I think you mean gender nonconforming? Revealing your personal background is totally up to you, and you should do what you think is best.

sorry... gender identity disorder.. let's put it that way...

Extremely unlikely in my opinion.
