First of all, except in the Bizarro world of College Confidential, 1860 is not a low SAT Score.

Except for maybe 25 or 30 or so schools in the US, this score is well above average for admitted students. The majority of medical school students actually attend one of the … oh, I don’t know, couple of thousand other colleges.

So, do well, study hard and you have a great shot at Medical School

Any student can think about going to medical school and take pre-med courses in college alongside his/her major (which does not have to be biology), but any pre-med student needs to consider that most pre-meds do not get into any US medical school, so s/he should have a backup career plan for that likely possibility.

My point is that I’m not the brightest crayon in the box, But I am well above average, at least in my high school. Do the above average kids like me go on to medical school with respect to factors like MCATs. The competition for med schools is beyond belief these days and most likely, the med schools will accept students who were accepted to the top tier of universities.

The MCAT isn’t proportional at all to the SAT. The sat is a reasoning test while the MCAT is a purebred science test with a little English thrown in

Not to worry. There is hope for the future. Chapman University is planning a medical school. They already have an excellent pre-med program going. That’s a positive note for those of you who are seeking.
