Should Eng Comp 3 be First Pass?

How important is it to have Eng Comp 3 first pass? I'm deciding between eng comp 3 and either LS1 or physics 6a, but the science classes seem to already be filling up really fast. (My other class for first pass is chem bl, which I want first pass for sure).

Thanks.

i forgot to mention that I need to take eng comp 3 by this quarter.

Last quarter I did first pass for eng comp 3 (and about 1/3 - 1/2 were already full), by around second pass, I noticed there were NO sections for eng comp 3 open. (Maybe two to five on wait-list, but I just remember it wasn’t much.)

Maybe take it during the summer? I ended up dropping engcomp3 for lab, and I have to take it now too. I talked with an L&S counselor, and they said that somewhere in my 2nd year (if I don’t do it this summer), I’ll get a hold and basically I just have go down to Murphy Hall and say I’m a science major (apparently it doesn’t really mater too much for us) and I’m gonna do it soon, and apparently that’s about it. Though it’s apparently a bit of an inconvenience.

^thanks silvercross!

i never knew you didn’t have to take eng comp 3 first year. the counselors in orientation kept on insisting that we take it as freshmen.

Well, apparently it’s very important for a North Campus major, but not really essential for us Southies. I would call C of L&S just to make sure though. I don’t want you basing your plans on what I say in case I’m wrong. (Though I guess worst case scenario I would get a hold for a veeeery long time.)
