I got a grade 8 distinction on piano in 8th grade, so I was wondering if that counted for anything on college applications or if I need to get an even higher grade level in high school to make my love for piano worth anything. :(

Middle school accomplishments are generally not included unless it’s as a passing reference in an essay. (Example: I hated playing the piano until that fateful day in middle school when I walked away with a grade 8 distinction and my musical genius sister only got a 6. Since then, music has been my life…)

I am pretty sure they only ask for high school accomplishments. It says that on the application too, unless it’s something national.

I think you could include it if you continued playing after that point. Presumably you can still play at that level, right?
