Should I apply as a freshman or transfer student?

Hello! I've been out of high school for about two years now. My work involves traveling (domestically and internationally) and I have taken college classes wherever I have been working at the time. I have earned straight A's in the roughly twenty courses I have taken.

Am I wrong in assuming that I should apply to colleges as a freshman?

Thank you!

If you have taken about 20 courses, and they are all 3 credit hours each, you should have about 60 credits which at most schools would make you a sophomore/junior. Apply as a transfer.

Once you have taken college credits, you are a transfer student and have to submit those grades. The number of credits the school you apply to will accept will determine what your standing is.

Also, depending on the number of credits that you have, you may also need to submit high school grades and ACT/SAT scores.

Yes, you have to submit all grades and yes for the OP (with over a year of credits) they will have to apply as a transfer anywhere.

However, the definition of a transfer applicant varies between colleges, so you have to read their websites. For some, taking 1 post-HS college course means you apply as a transfer, others have credit limits, and for some if you’ve completed less than a year of post-HS college, you still qualify as a fr applicant.
