Gtown is my first choice hands down, but I noticed they have a lower EA rate than ED… Should I still apply EA if I have less of a chance to get in or wait to apply ED.
Georgetown doesn’t have an ED round. If you mean RD, you can always apply EA and since everyone who isn’t accepted is deferred to the RD round, your application will automatically get a second look.
First, as @gradygrad said, they don’t have ED, but they do have EA and RD reviews. If it’s your first choice, go EA. Anyone not admitted EA is deferred to RD (meaning none are flat denied in the early round), and being deferred does not put you at a disadvantage for the RD round. In fact, about 15% of deferred students are admitted each year during RD, which is negligibly different from their overall admit rate RD. Essentially, as long as Georgetown is indeed your first choice (meaning there’s no other school you want to apply to ED), there is no downside to applying EA.
