Should i apply now, later, or both times? Southern Connecticut State University

Hi quick question, so im at a private college and am looking to transfer to Southern Connecticut University, which is a instate school for me. my question is my first semester did go as planned at my current school. wasn’t happy here so i was lazy toward my work. southern is not a prestigious school or a hard school to get into the minimum GPA requirement to transfer is a 2.0 and right know i have a 2.29 and i was wondering if i should apply now or at the end of second semester, by the end of second semester i will have a 2.61 GPA and my college gets out in may and the deadline for transfers is in August so i have time. but if i do apply now and got declined would i be able to apply again after the second semester? what do you think i should do?

You need to put in more work and pull your GPA up. If you were capable of getting accepted to your current school, then you should be capable of doing much better than a 2.29 GPA. You are in college now, “lazy toward my work” is not acceptable.

There is no harm in applying now to transfer, and then applying again in a year if you don’t get in.

yes i know need to bring it up, but my question is if i apply now with my semester 1 grades and got declined, would i be able to apply again after the second semester?

“would i be able to apply again after the second semester”

If you apply again, it mostly just shows that you are really interested. If you also have improving GPA, then this will also be a plus.
