So, I've decided that Princeton is my first choice and I definitely want to apply SCEA if I can.

The problem is essays. I've been really busy/procrastinating, so I'm just now getting around to writing the Princeton supplement essay. I've written my common app essay but it's by no means a final draft. I'm basically know what I want to write my supp essay on, but I don't want to write something that's rushed and have my chances of getting in decreased.

I know it's subjective and depends on the person, but do you think I have time to write the essay (and write it well)? Would you recommend applying early or waiting?

You have 3 weeks until the EA application is due. That seems to be a reasonable amount of time to write two essays and have them well edited before sending them off if you don’t procrastinate any further. If you give yourself until the Jan deadline you are likely to either procrastinate and wind up in basically the same place, or obsess over it unnecessarily. Remember the old adage with written works - “writing is never finished, only due”.

Agree with Cantiger. 3 weeks is a perfect amount of time.

Ok, that relieves me some. I want to do SCEA, certainly. Also within the next couple weeks or so before the app is due how many people would you recommend look over my essay?

I would suggest max two people who can give some good input and ideas. If you present it to too many people you are going to run the risk of being sent in too many directions.

Also make sure you maintain your own voice and ideas in the essays.
