I am an international student requiring financial aid. While searching for a college to apply ED2, Tufts seems like a great fit to me. But my friends say that I won't get into Tufts because last year, tufts provided huge aid to an applicant from my high school who had the exact same stats as me. He was also a tech/engineering type guy and had the same SAT, subject tests in Phy, Chem and Math2 scores as me. My friends say US colleges take intl student to bolster their diversity but as they have taken a guy with almost exact a profile like mine, my getting in with financial aid is almost impossible. Should I apply ED 2 to Tufts or not?

If Tufts is your first choice you should. What you heard from others may not be true. College does not keep a track of students they admit from previous years.

Are you sure colleges don’t keep track of their previous admits?

Believe whatever you want, but what motive would @artloversplus have for lying to you?

Critical thinking skills, please.

^^ I don’t have to be sure. But one thing is for sure, that is if you don’t apply you will never know!

Exactly, i don’t know where the h*** your friend got such information, but I doubt it’s a legitimate advice.

Don’t ask other high schoolers about colleges and admissions because the chance is that they are well-informed as you are…

Okay then, looks like I’ll apply to Tufts after all.
