Should I apply to my schools early action.

Two of the schools I'm applying to are university of north texas, and oklahoma state university.
I'm applying to 8 other schools. The highest one is probably Texas state university, or pace university.

I was thinking that maybe I should just apply regular decision and see if I can get in. I want to bring up my unweighted GPA by December from an unweighted of 2.8 to 3.1, or 3.2. My weighted is a 4.2. I want to bring it up to a 4.5 GPA.

Should I apply regular admission??

Yes! Apply regular.
Many people believe that they have a higher chance of getting accepted if they apply early decision/action since it has a higher acceptance rate than regular but that isn’t true! Actually, applying early might be harder because the applicants first choice is X,Y school they will therefore be prepared, ready to get a spot.
Wait and raise your gpa.
Good luck!

OP, I don’t believe that UNT offers Early Action. EA and ED are usually used by more/highly selective schools. Under the impression most State schools are rolling type admissions with the exception of the more competitive dept/programs.

I don’t think you’re going to be able to bring up your GPA by .3 between now and December. I don’t doubt your scholarly aptitude, but that’s still a large jump for 1 semester.

Also, at my school they didn’t recalculate GPA or rankings after the end of junior year, so I don’t even think my GPA increase (from the end of jr year to sr year) was ever noted. When I got my final transcript after I graduated, there was no mention of what my GPA had been after 6 semesters. All that was listed for senior year was my courseload, the level, and the final grade.

I think there are various pros and cons to applying early - maybe the GPA boost will matter if you apply later, maybe you need time to refine an essay, or whatnot. But when I sent my last application on November 29th, a massive weight was lifted off my shoulders. It was a wonderful feeling and it makes it much easier to focus on my schoolwork.

Also, your weighted GPA is not shabby and it will be taken into consideration. I would apply to some schools early and some schools later.

I think you’re fine at UNT in either decision plan, you’re on track for admission

Thank you guys soooo much!!
