I am currently a high school junior looking to get into a good engineering school.
Academics:
3.6 UW GPA and 4.7 W GPA (working hard to hopefully raise GPA to 3.7)
1450+ SAT (haven’t taken SAT yet, but will take as many times needed to get at least a 1450)
10 AP classes expected to graduate with
5 community college classes (obtained dual credit)
Class rank (the weakest part) top 20%
Extracurriculars:
NHS
SNHS (Spanish)
On track for 80 volunteering hours
MSA
Math Honor Society
Computer Science UIL (competing with other schools across the state)
NSHSS (prob doesn’t matter)
Planning for 3 leadership positions
I have some safety and match schools in mind, but as far as reach schools I am considering:
-UT Austin
-UMich
-Northwestern
-Carnegie Mellon
-UC Berkeley
I plan on doing a double major in Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science.
I know I have a small chance of being admitted into these top universities, but does anyone think I have a chance? Or maybe suggest some other good engineering schools that I may have a better shot at? If anyone replies, thank you, I truly do appreciate your feedback.
