Should I apply

I am really interested in a Geography major and I think that the university of Minnesota is ranked #2 or #3. However is it worth it for me to apply there as an out of state student?
Also does anyone know anything about the geography program?

My Stats:
ACT-31
GPA-4.2 Weighted 3.9 Unweighted

i had a 31 ACT and a 4.5 weighted and i got a full out of state tuition waiver. i would assume you would get the same, at worst you would get the half out of state tuition waiver. definitely worth applying.

would it be to late to still apply??..i saw somewhere that the priority deadline was December 15
would i still qualify for the tuition waiver if i applied now?

RAL2274…According to U of Minn’s website:

“Priority scholarship consideration is given to admitted students who complete the admission application by the December 15 priority application deadline. Those who apply after that date will be considered on a funds-available basis, though it is unlikely that funds will be available at that time. Students receiving scholarships will be notified by the end of March of their senior year.”

I don’t think it’s necessarily a lost cause to apply now, it’s just less likely that scholarship funds will be available. The OOS tuition waiver scholarships are based upon your class rank (usually top 5% for Gold National and top 10% for Maroon National) so if your GPA puts you in or near that rank I’d say go ahead and apply. Good Luck!!
