Should I still apply? (UT related)

Hello everyone, I need some advice about applying to UT (for OOS).

Originally, I intended to apply to UT and A&M for Texas schools. However, a few days ago I learned that the deadline to apply for major scholarships was December 1st. Crud. I still intend to apply to A&M though, because it might be affordable after sending in the required forms.

However, UT is way more expensive for OOS. I would love to go there, but without some major financial aid it looks like it wont be happening. Should I still apply? Including UT i'm applying to five schools.

Also, both schools share the A&B essay prompts. Two of the essays I wrote are pretty good, and the other two are pretty average. While I originally intended to send the good essays to UT (more selective) and the two average essays to A&M, if I didn't apply to UT I could use my good essays for A&M. And of course, I could save some money on application fees.

Thoughts?

edit: 3.9 gpa and 2040 SAT if that helps

Well you should definitely still send to ut. they sent me an email when I missed the deadline and the thing is you arent completely ineligible…you just arent a priority for scholarships. So you could take the chance…with a school such a ut with the pull of top 10%ers your chances will probablly be about the same anyhow. just my opinion. and where are you from? just curious seeing ass you’re trying to be OOS

From Minnesota. Kind of an odd to place to apply to UT from, but it’s an excellent school.

O Ok. I live in texas myself and have visited several times. Its not for me but then again I’m sort of a weirdo as far as my college choices my friends say. Just about everyone I know is going there.
