Extracurriculars are relatively okay. Probably (or at least I hope are) on par with the ultra competitive international pool of students.
Also, I’m an international that will be applying for Financial Aid. Only 1 student from my country (as far as I know) got in last year with financial aid, so I know it’s going to be relatively tough but I’m trying anyway.
School Predicted Grades (No GPA system, relatively competitive high school): AAAAB

Should I apply to midd? If so, should I send in my ACTs or SATs?
You should apply to Midd if you want to attend and have an idea how it will help you reach your goals in life. Your test scores are great. Is English your first language?
Should you apply to Midd? Sure, if you think it is a good fit for your academic goals and if you feel drawn to the community. Have you visited? What are you looking for in an undergrad education?
If you apply, submit your ACT and the three subject tests. You are clearly very strong in math/sciences as reflected by your exceptional subject test scores and math/science ACT. The reason I would submit the ACT (along with your subject tests) is that it shows you are well rounded enough to get good scores in Reading/writing as well.
@OldbatesieDoc Well, we do English as our first language. I know my writing scores are a tad bit low which could pose as a concern. I would love to be able to enter midd, but I’m worried that with F/A it would not be possible
@lr4550 I love the rural environment. Gosh I’ve been living in an urban environment for my entire life and this would be a terrific change. I would love to visit but I’m and international. I would love to be able to have a flexible curriculum that allows me to explore different subjects. However, I do need F/A and that’s a major factor in my application process. I’m worried that if I apply to middlebury I won’t get F/A and i’ll be wasting my ED2 chances.
What do you mean we “do English as our first language”…You spoke it at home with your parents, or you learned it at school? If you learned it at school those ACT scores are fabulous. If it is the language your parents speak at home, they are a bit low.
If you need aid, but are not “needy”, you need a compelling story for Midd to want you. I don’t get that from these brief posts. “I’ve always lived in an urban environment” won’t cut it.
If you are female, those high science and math scores will help a lot, especially if you express interest in majoring in math or science, because that’s uncommon. If you are an Asian male, not so much.
What about a school with merit aid that will be really wowed by those scores? Bucknell or Juniata come to mind…You might be able to get a full ride if you look at less well-known but still quality schools where you can get a great education but they have to be more flexible with finances to get top tier students.
Internationals who need $$ are in a bit of a bind -have to be really special and genuinely needy.
