Should I apply?

I visited Michigan 3 years ago and loved it, but I'm wondering if I would even be in contention for admission.

Might as well apply! Although with your GPA, OoS status, missing the ED deadline, and (unfortunately) your ethnicity, it’ll be an uphill battle, though your ECs do a lot to offset that. If you really wanna be as competitive a possible, get a time machine and submit your app a month ago. But seeing as that might be a bit tough, submit it as soon as possible! I’d say you’re a low reach/low match. Certainly competitive.

michigan doesn’t superscore, 3.5 GPA OOS, white male

If you don’t apply your chance of being admitted is zero. If you do, your chances of admittance are much greater than zero. Make sure your essays are top notch, and your recommendations are glowing, and you’ve got a chance, although it’s a reach for you.
