I was accepted into both of these schools, and my cost of attendance would be about the same.
I am hoping to major in Political Science/Economics, potentially going to Law School after undergrad.
What school would be best?

Personally if I were making this choice (especially considering the cost is around the same amount), I would absolutely go with GW. You’ll be studying political science blocks from major political buildings/departments. You can always intern in different places during the summer if you’d like, but a lot of college is what opportunities are in the local area and who you can meet/network with locally. There are naturally going to be more political connections at GW than at SMU because the former is in the capital of the country. Good luck with your decision!
I’m obviously biased, but GW, hands-down. If you’re studying political science, there aren’t many places that have a better program. In addition to the program, though (like @DelphicOracle stated) you have soooo many opportunities at GW. The internship possibilities along with the networking are some of the biggest selling points for many when it comes to GW. When you look at how many college graduates don’t get work in their major (or any work, for that matter), internships should be even more appealing. Most of my friends that took an internship (or two) ended-up working there after graduating. Again, it’s all about networking…
