I realize they are very different schools, but I have the opportunity to possibly play a varsity sport at both schools and I’m having a hard time deciding. Cost would most likely be the same. I am from the North east but I’ve always liked California even though traveling would be harder. I like the size of Wash U but I have heard the claremont schools feel like a bigger school because resources and classes are shared between the 5 schools. Any input on these schools in general would be helpful, or specifically about their sports programs/athletic culture? Thanks!
Have you been accepted to both?
Hello, this caught my eye because I live in claremont and was raised here. This is a great small, safe town. The campuses are really nice and I know people from my high school who went there strictly for sports. I do not know much about wash u, but if you were to go to claremont you would love it. It is in a great part of SoCal. Not too close to LA, its more in the suburbs. I do know that is a very competitive school and very “hipster”. wish i could tell you more about the sports, but i do love my city.
The last word I’d use to describe Claremont McKenna is hipster. Are you thinking of Pitzer?
OP, you need to try to visit the campuses.
You will know immediately if you fit at these schools.
None of my 3 children wanted to go to the claremont colleges. You have to ‘fit’ the colleges. Good luck!
