Or flush the toilet after committing the lesser of two evils?

I'm okay with anyone else doing it since it conserves water.

yeah thats understandable, since you do actually share a room so transferring germs is pretty easy probably. in my friends’ suite/room they’ve made one of their suitemates go back and wash his hands.

I used to be bad about it if I just peed, but this semester I’ve been a stickler about it (albeit I’m at a CCC). Mostly cause I don’t really want to get sick, 1 day could be the difference between an A and… not A

The amount of water you use when you wash your hands is very insignificant compared to the benefits. Conservation of water would be “when its yellow let it mellow.” Anyways, don’t worry about it. If you wanna be worried about something, worry about how the 15-25% of people who don’t wash their hands use the same door handles as you. That’s right… hundreds of people get their ***** finger residue on the same door handles that you open.
anyways, it’s still rare that you’ll get sick or anything. it’s mostly a mental thing about washing.

FINALLY SOMEONE IN THE SAME SITUATION AS ME!!! my roommate is super neat and clean, except for the fact that she doesn’t wash her hands.

i first noticed that she didn’t keep soap by her sink so i thought she used hand sanitizer instead, but i was wrong. i don’t know how to bring the situation up w/out stirring up conflict. i just try to avoid touching her things as possible [and we have an agreement not to touch each others stuff anyways] but when i touch the door handle it grosses me out to touch anything else.

if you find a way to nicely confront your roommate about it, please let me know.

open the door with a piece of paper or tissue

I have a suitemate who doesn’t flush after the lesser of two evils…I find it disgusting since three other people are using that toilet. Have some courtesy and just flush.

Hand washing I don’t care about. I only wash my hands before I eat (omg disgusting!) and I like to think it’s why my immune system is so good.

Back when I had a roommate, about once a week I went through the room with a can of lysol and sprayed everything we both touch-- door handles, window latches, etc. Dunno if it helped but it made me feel better. So far as I know my roommate washed her hands, but we were both constantly sick and got each other sick all the time.

Clorox wipes…use them, and use them often. Wipe down the door knobs, key boards and desk tops. It is disgusting to not wash your hands and even more disgusting to not wash your hands and expose other people to your e coli.

Have you ever thought about the students on your floor that may have some immune disorder or possibly on chemotherapy? You are exposing other people to a very serious potential illness. There are many students attending school with serious health problems and simple curtesy could make the difference in a student being able to stay in school or live at home and commute to a nearby college.

-squirts more hand sanitizer on hands as I read the thread-
…Ew. Now that I think about it, not washing your hands is kind of gross. Even just running them under the water for a bit.
In my dorm it’s especially gross because the sinks aren’t in the bathroom so after using the toilet you have to open the door, which is probably one of the most unsanitary things ever, and then wash your hands. So I always do…or use sanitizer.
Flushing is…hilarious. Sometimes I feel like we’re back in elementary school when if someone didn’t flush the toilet, everyone just doesn’t use that bathroom. …as if flushing is that difficult.
