Today we got our ASVAB (armed service vocational aptitude battery) tests back, and we had a guy from the military come into our class and explain our scores.

At the end, had a little chart and said "Your Military Entrance Score' on your score sheet is an accurate representation of how you'll do on the ACT. What do you guys consider a good ACT score?" Most of the answers called out were 20, 25, 26ish. He agreed, and went on to say "If your military entrance score is between 22 and 63(most of the class, not me. some people were actually lower), you're headed for a 9-13 on the ACT. If you're in the 64-85 range (I had a 64, and was top 20% for everything but auto mechanics), you are headed for a 13-15 on your ACT.

He stopped there and didn't go any higher.

Was he trying to scare us out of applying to college so that we'd join the military? Was it all BS?

It wasn't scare tactics, he wasn't trying to BS you, he was simply mistaken about the scores. If they gave your percentile on the test simply compare that with an ACT conversion chart to get a rough idea, but I doubt there's a strong correlation between a military vocational entrance test and the ACT.

The only way you'd find out what your score on the ACT or SAT will be is by taking it

They are personally recruited and trained by Bush who wanted more people for Iraq. And seeing that Bush personally trained them, they aren't too bright.

You have to be 100% really stupid to score lower than 18 I think. Like you have not even tried.

you are a moron. I don't care if you don't like bush, that's you're own opinion. But do not disrespect the army, they are out there busting their asses and putting their life on the line every day while you sit in front of the computer and *****. Go jump in front of a bus before you spout crap like that again.

Those conversions don't sound at all right to me. As for the source of the error, I am not going to engage in wild speculation.

Chris2k5, While you may hate Bush, the Army, and all things governmental, try not to spew such BS. It only makes you look like a brainwashed, partisan, idiot. Perceptions do matter.

Why don't you challenge one of them to a hunting match? Only you'll be hunting each other. Let's see who wins. Jackass.

I don't think there's a legitimate correlation between the ASVAB and the ACT.

I would think that if these conversions were common enough to suggest your ACT score, there would be mention of them elsewhere online. I haven't found anything while doing a (brief and half-hearted) search about it's connection.

Lol. Recruiters will do a lot to get you to join. My parents were both in the marines. hahahaa. They were, um, lead to believe that they were joining the band and nothing else. Hmm, maybe didn't sink in until they were stationed in Japan, lol.
