should i be worried?

we're all in college, and i can't believe this still happens. Today (thanksgiving eve!), my best friend received his first death threat. he was at a place w/ no cellphone service, so he couldn't get their number, but they left a weird message. there was definitely a lot of cussing, and it sounded like a little girl. i thought they might have had the wrong number, or it was just a prank. but he hasn't given his number to anyone for a long time. i was going to tell him to consider calling the police, but it's only one message. i think it will get more serious if they do it again.

It could just be a wrong number, or a case of "random number". Anyway, if he doesn't have any enemies or anything, I wouldn't worry about it.

Yea, true. But if it'll scare him until he knows what's up, it wouldn't hurt to tell the police i'm guessing

I read several threads like this on cc already. I think one of the funniest responses was, "I was the one who made that phone call..."

something like that happened to me...it was strange. They were saying that my "boyfriend" (which i don't have) had called up one of their friends using my phone and threatened to break his legs...and he was asking me all these questions like...do you live on campus? what dorm? and i did not give up anything too detailed. eventually i was like, "you have the wrong person, never call this number again!"

still think that was a prank call.
