I'm a junior now and my GPA has been pretty consitently lower than what my teachers call my "potencial" (freshman-79 Sophmore-88 juniorQ1 90 with some weight) still in the top 10% though...

I've taken all the hardest classes possible
(taking 6 ap's this year most likely self studying 2 more and I took two last year)

I'm president of Mock Trial, Model UN and I am officer in several more EC's (Literary Magizine, Science Research, Rotary, Key club, Jazz Band,I participate in some smaller ones) and I've played varsity sports year round since the 9th grade. (indoor/outdoor Track and the only Girl on our football team) I have several hundred hours of community service as well.

I have taken several practice SAT's average is about 1900-2200

Basically aside from poor GPA I think I have a fairly soild application in the works but with such a low GPA is it even worth applying to some of the top schools? Will a college like Columbia or Georgetown look at an average of 90 at a public school and just stop reading? I know applications are suppose to be a holistic approach but they have to narrow it down some how right?

I guess my basic question is can a low overall GPA kill an otherwise good application?
