Should I bother applying to Caltech?

<p>I got a 33 on the ACT: E:32 M:35 R:28 S: 36</p>

<p>SAT 2: Math 2: 800 Physics: 710 (I did not complete the class before i took the test, I self studied during the summer)</p>

<p>ECs: Would show that I like to share my passion for math. I also help kids in physics</p>

<p>Common app essay: An experience at the retirement home. second last para focuses on how the experience impacted my relation ship with my grandma, and last para. is the impact on my life.</p>

<p>Grades: I'm in the canadian system and my math grades are 91, 99, 96. I am very specialized in math.</p>

<p>So should I apply as a math major?</p>

<p>Of course you should bother! You have great stats so anything can happen but cal tech is arguably the hardest school in the world to get into. No harm in applying. Could you chance me? <p>There’s never harm in applying to a school: “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take”, and you have a reasonable shot. Go for it, and good luck!</p>

<p>@SStephen2015 would it be a reach even if i apply as a math major? my math marks and scores are almost perfect.</p>

<p>@SStephen2015 or is Caltech one of those schools that actually cares about the other classes like english? Cuz they give off the vibe of jus wanting ppl with the best math and science marks.</p>
