I have a decent GPA, decent EC's and hopefully good essays.

My SAT is CR:740,M:780,WR:670
SAT II's: Chem: 760, Math II: 760

I just took another SAT II today (U.S. history) and I'm confident I got somewhere between a 600 and 670. I'm thinking the score will reflect my weakness in the social studies area (only studied extensively for a week after a 6 month hiatus, overconfidence =/. )

The dilemma is that I'm applying for very competitive schools (Columbia, cornell, etc), and I'm curious how badly will this score hurt me. Should I cancel asap?

I don't think any school blatantly states it wants 3 SAT II's, but three is the recommended number. If any of the schools required three, I guess I would have to keep it.

Personally, I wouldn't cancel it, but it is up to you. I see where you are coming from, but even with the poor ( ;) CC Poor ;) ) US history test, I doubt it would effect your decision much. Good luck.

I love the emphasis on CC Poor because I know it's a perfectly ok score for regular people and I would've been happy with it a while ago. I've made too many posts on here and read too many things that have made me quite obsessive.

Well, if you don't really need it... cancel.

But if you want a 3rd score to embellish them... retake SAT II. And choose a non-science one. Oh, and one that you won't need to study a lot to do well, cause you'll only have at about 1 month for it.
