Hello I'm a senior with a mechanical engineer major, and I just realized I don't like mechanical engineering anymore. I have only 4 classes left but I have no work experience, a very low gpa (around 2.6), and having trouble with most of my classes. I want to switch to a computer science major because that fits my interests better but I'm not sure if I should change. What should I do?

what classes do you have left?

Finish your degree and then go into programming. My experience is that engineers are preferred for that anyway. Can’t do much about the gpa even if you switch. Develop your own software project that you can discuss at interviews.

Yes, finish the ME degree and if you have any electives, take CS courses. Once you work in the software field for a while you can get a Masters degree in CS if it is valuable for your career.
