Should I discuss the quote that I write my supplemental essay about in the essay itself?

I am talking about the princeton question:
Using a favorite quotation from an essay or book you have read in the last three years as a starting point, tell us about an event or experience that helped you define one of your values or changed how you approach the world. Please write the quotation, title and author at the beginning of your essay.

If I have a quote about honesty and my essay is about honesty, do you think I should mention the quote in the essay itself? Like “This quote resonates with me because of my experience.” etc. Or do you think it is okay to not talk about the quote in the essay?

The only thing that matters is clarity for the reader. AdComms are human beings. They’re not imbued with super mindreading powers.

If you don’t think it’s obvious to the reader what aspect of the quote relates to your story, then discuss it. USE COMMON SENSE.

Follow the directions on the Princeton Supplement for that essay question

So you must mention the quote and can refer to it, or not. That’s up to you.
