Hi,
I'm currently a Freshman in High school and did Geometry in 8th grade and I'm getting A's in Honors Fast Math Algebra 2. Should I do Pre-calc over the summer so I can start AP Calc in 10th grade?

Lol, they call it Honors Fast Math?

And sure, if you think you can.

AP Calculus in 10th grade is quite ambitious - even the strongest math students at my school don’t take Calc until their Junior Year. Do you have any idea what you want to be when you grow up?

I want to end up being a dermatologist. I’d want to major in biology or pre-med. I know sciences would help me. I wouldn’t want to do pre-calc over the summer if I can’t end up getting A’s in AP Calc. Is pre-calc hard in comparison to Algebra 2? Would it be best to learn it over the course of a year rather than in one summer?

go for it! tons of kids at my school took this track, and looking back I wish I did too. looks great on college apps plus you have the opportunity to finish all the math courses. it’s not that hard in my opinion. as a junior I’m breezed through my first semester of calculus and I’m pretty sure taking it as a sophomore wouldn’t have made a difference. if you consistently get A’s in math, I say do it
