I got accepted into UCONN Waterbury, but I really want to go to the Storrs campus. I've heard of people writing to the admission office saying how much they really want to go to the Storrs campus. I was thinking about doing this and also calling. I'm not sure what to say though? I'm going to ask them if i can be put on the waitlist for storrs and too see if they could re check my applications during regular admission (I applied early action). Is this a good idea? Should I also ask them if they want me to re take my SAT's to see if that would increase my chances of acceptance to the storrs campus? My SAT's were 1450.
I reallllyyy wanna go to the Storrs campus and I dont want to have to transfer.

As long as you are polite and tactful, there is no harm in asking what you can do.

I’m in the same situation, and asked if it was possible to be put on a wait list. They said all students are considered for the wait list if they are not initially accepted into Storrs. Unless your acceptance/rejection letter specifically stated that you are on the wait list, then you are not on the wait list, you did not qualify.

I would call- make sure to mention you want to re-take the SATs and maybe send your mid-year grades.
Good luck! :)

I agree ask them if they would like you to retake the sat and send mid year grades and I think you should send them a letter about how much you would like to attend uconn storrs. Goodluck I hope everything works out.

Do you mind posting what they say if you do decide to contact them? Thanks.

I called and they said I am not on a waitlist. I couldn’t get into the Storrs campus, but I could get into the Waterbury one. I asked if there was any way that I could get onto the waitlist or if I could have my application rechecked during regular admissions and they said no. Also asked if I should take my SAT’s again and she said I could try, but the scores and change of the application must be significant for the appeal to be considered.
