My plan was to take Calculus I over the summer as a visiting student, transfer it back in to my current community college, and then be all set for Calculus II and Physics for Science and Engineering I in the fall. My plan has been affected drastically, however.

Before the Summer I semester started, my mom and I had an agreement that we would share her car. She also said that she would buy me the book. This went severely wrong as my mom is on the road frequently. As a result, she usually gets stuck in some of the heaviest traffic in the Philadelphia area, thus coming home later and making me late. Out of about 20 class meetings so far, I have only arrived on time during two of them. My mom also did not order the book until yesterday. The estimated delivery time for my book is after the course ends.

Despite these circumstances, I do have a backup plan should I choose to drop. Currently, I am a Chemistry major. This major requires Calculus II and Physics for Science and Engineering I and II. What I can do is switch to a Biology major until I graduate from my community college. This way, I will graduate on time with the required Calculus credits. Then, in the summer of my graduation before I arrive at my selected transfer university, I can take University Physics I and II, as well as Calculus III. With this plan, I will graduate on time and still be able to take all of the classes that I need.

Do you think that I should drop this course and then go with my backup plan? With the amount of time that I have missed with this class, I think that I am going to fail it.
