Should I drop or fail a pre-req class?

Hello.

I planning on transferring in the fall. 1 of my classes that I am taking this semester is my Differential Equations class. It is a pre-requisite for my major.

My teacher had the nerve to not curve his first test and as a result me and a couple other people in the class ended up with a 25% on our first test. There are only 3 tests in the class and you are not allowed to drop a test.

If I do not get a 90% on the next test I can't pass the class. If I don't get a 90% or above on my next test should I drop the class or should I fail it?

I can take this class during the summer which I am planning on doing. Do you think that the UC schools that I go into would reject me because I dropped this class?

Thanks

drop it and take it with better professor next time…bear in mind i diff eq gets easier. but still drop it. a F looks worst then a W on ur transcirpt

Nerve not to curve? All of my professors never curve any of their exams. But anyways besides that, take a W. Receiving a D or F is still not passing as far as being transferrable. That would mean that you would have to retake the course over and depending on where you’re applying. If it be a private school aside from the UC’s, they will probably average the 2 grades.

So my advice is take the W, it looks better than having an F.
