I am a senior and in AP Capstone. I hate it so much and I took it for the wrong reasons. Now I’m stuck in the class and we have to do a year-long research project and paper and presentation and stuff. I am so behind and uninterested. I have no motivation to catch up either. I am like 2 papers behind. It sucks. However, I just found out that I can drop out of AP Research when the semester ends. I really really want to, but I’m not sure how it will affect my college admissions. For one school specifically. I really want to go to UMich. I applied early action. Hypothetically, if I got accepted to UMich early action and switched out of AP Research second semester, is it possible they would rescind my admission? I’m also worried about this because my common app essay was literally about my decision to do AP Capstone, so if I drop out of it, admissions officers might not like that… advice?
