Should I ED Wellesley College?

I'm a international from China. I have loved wellesley since I'm in 8th grade.
I always leading my mates to against authorities (when things they said are wrong) and sometimes I found that I'm so weak, I wanna be stronger. Maybe this seems normal in the States, but in China, in my school, since middle school, no one dare to against them except me, they always saying that just 3 years, relax. But things are wrong, I wanna them stop, not only for myself, but also for those will come into school later.
I think that's what a women's college want, I'm also talkative and curious about everything. I think lacs are better for me than research universities as well, 'cause I wanna learn things in many fields.
However, my GPA and SAT are not fit for Wellesley. my GPA is 3.4, although the courses are challenging but it's also not a good score, I took AP lang, us history and physics C at the same time.(got 5s on physics C and 3 on the other 2) I took SAT in Oct, I'm sure that I can't get a score higher than 700, maybe it will be a 650 or less. It is just a very bad score.
I'm struggling about the ED thing :(. I don't know if I'll get a great score in next 2 months and I know that it will be more competitive during the RD.
ED or RD, which one you'll choose if you guys were me?

The thing about ED is that you MUST go there if you are accepted (and can afford the financial package.) You do not have the option to compare aid offers from a variety of schools, the way you do with RD. So if money is an issue, you might want to think about that.

That said, if you know it’s your school, and you can afford to pay whatever they say, then why not? Just make sure you are also working on applications to other schools because you’re right, it’s definitely a reach for you. I don’t think it’s completely out of the realm of possibility though. My D was waitlisted there, not outright rejected, and her stats were 3.46 unweighted GPA, and 2100 SAT. So it doesn’t hurt to try, knowing that it’s a long shot to get in.

What other schools are you looking at? Try Smith and Mount Holyoke (although those are also probably a reach, they a bit easier to get into than Wellesley.) Mount Holyoke in particular has a lot of international students.

Let us know your financial situation (how much can you afford to pay) and other criteria, and maybe we can help you come up with some schools that are “match” or “target” schools for you.

I can afford the tuition so it’s not the problem. Smith and Bryn Mawr are in my consideration, as well.
My sat is delayed because of some people cheating in Korea. GPA is 3.4 unweighted, I took AP Lang, AP US history, AP physics C and Calculus BC last year. I got 3s on Lang and US History and 5s on others.
I’m a swimmer and have gotten some school honors, and I got 2nd place in a national physics competition. I also work in a foundation which helps lots of people, I love this voluntary job so much because I love kids. I did some model jobs for my friends who design clothes, as well. Did some academic research about earphone wire and war and religion. That’s all.
In academic I don’t think I performed very well.
You know, as an international student, it’s harder to get into US colleges, especially in China. This year more than 10 students wanna apply Wellesley. Last year just 2 and they were all accepted.
Anyway, thank you.

I don’t want to be a downer, but I think you might want to add some schools with higher acceptance rates. With a 3.4 GPA and <700 SATs, plus being international, Wellesley is a long shot. Both Bryn Mawr and Smith are “reach” schools for your stats. Even Mount Holyoke is a “reach”, but they DO accept more international students. I know there was a fairly large group of Chinese students this year, because I saw them at Orientation.

If you are really set on going to college in the US, I’d recommend you add Mount Holyoke and some schools with even higher acceptance rates to your list.

More than 10 students applied from Korea or from China?
