Should I email my teacher?

Hi everyone!

I have 2 summer reading assignments for AP Lang & Comp due on Wednesday and I have an issue. I received a packet explaining the assignments and their requirements, one is a reading journal and the other is a literary analysis. Nowhere in the packet does it say to cite sources or anything like that, but I'm nervous that he'll have wanted citations for outside sources. The reading journal required looking over some outside sources and the analysis required things like historical information and biographical information about the author, so I used outside sources (mostly the internet) for those, although I never directly quoted and always used my own words. I do know which sites I used for these so I could list them if I needed to. I'm just nervous about plagiarism and all that so should I email him and ask or just not bother with them and stop worrying about it?

Thank you so much!

It probably isn’t that difficult to just tack on the links at the end of your writing, just to be safe. I’m sure nothing could go wrong with asking about it, or you can just include it in case it’s needed.

Okay, thank you! I kind of want to email him so I know for sure but I don’t want him to be annoyed or anything.

If you aren’t sure, e-mail him! I always e-mail my teachers, and they never seem annoyed :).

That’s very reassuring, I was so afraid he would think I’m weird for emailing him! Thank you :D!

I’m always paranoid about my summer work… but it always turns out my teachers just glance at them -_- But better safe than sorry, right? :P
