I know this question has been asked millions of times, yet I can’t seem to find a general consensus. I still haven’t been contacted for an interview. It’s too late in the process, I know, but I was wondering if maybe just contacting them will do anything. I know the likelihood of me getting an interview is probably QUITE low now, but perhaps there was some sort of error and I was contacted. My though process was maybe I just didn’t receive the contact as a result of some technological error, and I didn’t contact my interviewer because I never “received” the contact… I just don’t want to be demonstrating any disinterest… I am most likely reading way too much into this, and stressing for no reason as there probably just aren’t enough alums in my area, but I just want to cover all my bases… Thanks!
IMO, you would be showing disinterest by asking for an interview, because they DO say on their website that not everyone can get one and that interviews are automatically assigned. Also, if you would have been contacted by someone and somehow ended up not getting the e-mail, I think that the interviewer would have called you/send you another e-mail. Even so, the likelihood of a technological error happening is quite low with this kind of things. I assume you did check your spam/promotions e-mails. It it makes you feel any better, I haven’t been contacted for an interview either (along with hundreds of other applicants). Don’t worry about it, you won’t be disadvantaged by this, the interview is the least important part of your application.
You won’t be disadvantaged by not having an interview, but I don’t understand why it would show DISinterest by asking them. It shows you’d love the chance to talk to an interviewer, learn aboutt he college, and promote yourself in a personal setting. Worth emailing, but don’t have a scared or upset tone - simply state you know not everyone gets interviews and wanted to make sure you didn’t miss your interviewer’s communications.
Okay, thanks guys!
