Should I even consider applying? Or save my money?

Can anyone give me their opinions and evaluation my chances? Based on my own conclusions, I don't think I should even apply and waste my money. Any suggestions?

High School
GPA: 3.0
SAT: 960
SATII: Never took any
EC: Drum Major and Vice President of my 120 member marching band
^ As you can tell, I didn't really try too much in HS and worried about partying more than school..

Currently at my California Community College
Major: Sociology
GPA: 4.0
Units: 68 semester the Spring prior to transfer
Major Preps: Will complete after Fall Semester
TAP (UCLA TRANSFER ALLIANCE PROGRAM): Certified
IGETC: Will be certified the Spring prior to transfer
EC: Honors Leadership Team, Honors Ambassador, AGS, PTK, Honors Scholar, Deans list
Work: 15-20 Hours a Week
Letters of Recs: Already know a couple professors including my honors director who is willing to write me excellent recs.
Interesting Background: Lost a parent in 6th grade which led to several hardships which changed me into the man I am today. I will definitely write about how that has changed me and made me into a responsible grown up at a very young age.

What do you guys think of my chances at any of the Ivy Leagues? Based on my own feelings, I think that my chances are basically 0% at all of them due to my extremely low SAT scores.

Any kind of feedback or advice would be greatly appreciated.

PS: I know I should really retake my SAT's but I just do not have the time. With my 5-6 classes per semester coupled with my work (might get more hours because coworker recently quit), and my EC provides very little time to study the SAT's.

You really seem to have a good story that colleges will like. The SATs might be a problem though, because they need to know you'll be able to make it. Try and find the time to retake them, it might make all the difference.

I don't think they consider SATs for transfer students to UCs...so if you want to go to a place like UCLA or UCSB, you'd be alright.

Check the UC website for the info on transfer students. I'm not sure how it works exactly.
