thanks nspeds. part of the point was that there aren't many coming from those schools, which makes it not so important.

Who are you kidding? I can name dozens of students who were admitted from higher ranked schools, yet chose not to go. I know several in the entering Georgetown transferring class.

when i was at rice i met 2 cornell transfers and one MIT...so its not all non reputable schools

I should emphasize that by 'reputable,' I refer not to schools in the top tier or top 25. I know students who were admitted from schools like GWU, Boston University and such; however, I still regard such schools as more reputable than, say, community college or the University of Houston.

UH hahaha...yea of course..

Hey now. U of H has some topnotch programs. Their hotel school battles Cornell for the number one spot every year (this year UH is number one). And at the Law Center, there are several top five law specialties, including number one ranked intellectual property law. The Ivys bow down to U of H in many programs/areas.

mos def, ldmom. don't knock U of H.
