I'm taking both this June.
As of now, I feel almost certain I could perform much better on the ACT if I took it now.

If I do perform well one test but not the other, would it be worthwhile taking the other test again or should I take my Subject Tests next October instead?

I took both this year and did better on the ACT. Now over the summer I am studying for ACT retake and SAT subject tests which I will take in October/November. I personally can’t recommend what’s better. Do whatever you feel you can make you preform the best

If I were you, I would take the subject test in June (if you are taking those classes now) instead of SAT1. You don’t really need both ACT and SAT1 particularly if you are certain you can do better with ACT. More important, you will do better in subject test when you still have the materials in your mind. You can always take the SAT in Fall if you really want to.
