Here's my situation. I "dropped out" of school halfway through my sophomore year (I only earned 1.5 credits the whole year and a half I was at my first school) but now I am in an alternative school and my grades aren't doing so hot (mainly due to attendance) but I should still be able to pass this semester (I passed last semester). If I pass every course, I'll graduate early 2016 at the earliest. My GPA is probably screwed up and I doubt this alternative school will look well. In 2016 I'll be 19. Here's an idea I had, I was thinking I could drop out, get a GED, go to a local community college (try to get a 4.0 GPA there) and then transfer to MSU since I live in Michigan so it should be a bit cheaper than moving out of state although I would like to do that. Is this a good plan or should I suffer through school? Sorry if this is in the wrong section. Any advice is appreciated.

How much time will you save with the Ged? I’d advise against unless you really are saving more than a year or so.

Well, I was originally supposed to graduate in June of 2015 but now it will probably be June of 2016. I guess I’m being impatient but I know I’m smart enough to pass the GED test and get good grades in college, I’ve just made some mistakes in school and I don’t want to be wasting my time with stuff I already know when I could be attending college and saving up money.
