Should I get letters of recommendation from teachers at a former school?

I attended one high school for 9th, 10th, and 11th grade, but I transferred to cyber school for 12th grade this year. Should I seek letters of recommendation for college applications from teachers at my old school because they know my work and abilities better, or should I get letters from my current teachers? Or should I get letters from both sources?

There is no prohibition from getting a LOR from a former school. Choose whatever is best for you, regardless.

Imagine the cases where someone retires… this isn’t an issue for colleges.

I would definitely choose teachers from your former school, because they will be able to speak to your abilities better.

Ask whoever you think can write the best recommendation. It would be fine to get teachers from your prior school.
