There is a possibility I will be transferring high schools for my junior year. For my college apps, can I still ask a teacher from my old high school for a recommendation? I understand that it is usually better to ask junior and senior teachers, however a few particular teachers from my old school stand out as knowing me extremely well and have been influential to me. I am confused because I remember reading somewhere that you have to ask teachers from your current school. Could someone clarify, please? Thanks!

For your main teacher recommendations, I’d stick to teachers from your new school. Ones that haven’t seen you since you were a high school sophomore may not have as much to say about you once you’re a senior. If you really want to add another, you could ask one of the teachers from your old high school to write a supplementary LOR if you really think they’ll have something new and important to say about you.
