I received a 600 in writing 56 MC 10 Essay.

However, I normally get 65-70 on the MC for writing...

should I get my scores hand-checked?

And does 56 MC mean I got 24 wrong?

You should go ahead and get it checked if you're really concerned about your score and don't mind spending $50.

Did you order Q&A?

If you did, why don't you wait until you can check to see if the answers that you put down were the ones that you did... That way, you can be able to tell if you just did uncharacteristically bad or if there were some scantron reading errors.

$50 is a lot IMO

Absolutley not.

EVERY SINGLE testing.... someone gets on here and says I scored lower than I thought I should, should I get it checked out?

...what a waste of money, seriously. Take the test again for the same amount of money. Most college's superscore anyway and by taking the test again you can improve your other scores too, rather than pay $50 on a 1/100000 chance.

56 is NOT -24 off....

But I read that 1/3 of the couple thousand that do appeal, their scores have been raised. And plus, the colleges that I'm applying to DO NOT superscore, and they also average after my 3rd score.

A score of 56 is -how much?

All i can say is for my May '08 score, a 68 was a -5. And it says "On a scale of 20-80". A 56 is by no means a -24.

Caveat emptor. The epitome of capitalism.

what is a 76? 2 wrong?

@lolilaughed, lol i laughed
subjunctive much

Also, how did you feel coming out of the testing room? Did you think it was more or less the same as your practice tests? Then it might be worth checking it out JUST for the peace of mind. You don't want to be 70 years down the road on your death bed thinking...maybe if I had checked I could have gotten into Harvard. That would suck to carry that around with you.

However, if you really did come out thinking...hey that was pretty bad, its possible that it was just a bad test for you. On PSATs, I completely failed at writing after a lot of studying. My first practice test I got a -1...and I felt that i got -7 or more coming out of the testing room... What I"m tring to say is - it's really possible to have an off section after such a long test.

I hope you can make a decision that makes you comfortable.
