Should I go to ADS competition

I was invited to the ADS cometition however I have been accepted to U of M so probably won't go to state. I was wondering if anyone has gone to the ADS weekend before, if so was it fun? Should I go just for the experience and the rare chance I get the scholarship and decide to go to State?

I was in the same position a few years ago. I went to the ADS weekend to see some friends in East Lansing (didn’t take the test seriously at all, barely got any sleep) and ended up getting the full-ride scholarship. People who were more involved in the activities of the weekend seemed to indicate they were relatively fun and certainly useful if you end up going to state; I know several people who got jobs out of meetings during ADS weekend.
Bottom line: definitely worth a try

Yes, if you would consider going to Michigan State if you received the scholarship then do it.

I didn’t personally go to the ADS competition. But one of my very close friends did (she goes to MSU now) and scored really well, so now she has a really nice scholarship and is basically going to MSU for free. She had a really good time and met a lot of people with similar interests (and the chance at getting some really nice scholarships was nice, too!). It was held at MSU when she did it, not sure about now, but if getting to/from East Lansing isn’t too inconvenient, definitely go for the experience and the chance at financial aid!
