So Iam going to be a freshman next year, and I didnt get into USC which I love so much. So do you think that I would have a greater chance of getting into USC from SMC or UCSB after a year? what kind of grades do I have to have to get into USC? does USC accept alot of transfers? Thanks

I think USC averages around a 3.7 GPA for most transfers. USC does allow sophomore transfers so you could go to UCSB for a year to experience freshman dorming and go to USC your sophomore year or if you want to save money you could go to SMC.

SMC will be easier because it’ll easier to keep a higher GPA.

Ask yourself why you love USC so much? Then see if UCSB or any other campus can offer you those same things at less than half the cost.

Ucsb for sure! UCSB may offer you more resources that will make you be a much more competitive applicant that USC may be looking for. Don’t go to a school just for an easy 4.0

If I were in your place I’d call admissions and USC and talk with them about how to maximize the chances.

SMC would give you more options at transferring. IMO USC isn’t that great of a school idk why anyone would spend so much to go there when other UCs have plenty to offer at a fraction of the cost. Sure its a good school but for the price it sure isn’t worth it.
