Should I have my GC explain?

So, I'm a bit worried.. English is my best subject yet I got a B+ in my freshman year and an A- in my sophomore year. I did earn an A in my junior year, though! I'm sure that I'll get an A next year as well because I'm working my ass off..

My English teacher in my freshman year had health problems and missed months of school. Even if he was there, we usually did nothing. We had one or two tests and a few assignments. Apparently, almost every student in every class of his received B's since he didn't have much of anything to base our grades on. I did earn one of the only A's on the midterm!

My A- in my sophomore year was my fault.. I got an A- first semester (I was just learning what was expected of the class), an A second semester (I got the hang of it), a B+ (I handed in an essay late..dropping the grade from an A to a C) third semester and an A fourth semester.

So, do you think that I should have my guidance counselor explain my English grade in my freshman year? I'm a strong writer as evidenced by my leadership on my school's literary magazine and newspaper, my work as a freelance writer, and national writing awards.

No, I don’t think it’s necessary to explain that B+ grade.

I’ll have my counselor explain a whack B- I got, but for B+'s and definetley A-'s, that’s pointless.
