I recently got accepted to NYU's real estate program, and although originally I planned to major in finance at temple, I am now conflicted on what I should do now. Any input would be really great. Especially anybody who graduated from NYU's real estate program.

Can you afford NYU?
What is the price difference?

Is cost an issue to you at all? If it isn’t, I suggest you take the whole picture of the opportunities each school has for you and make the decision. Are you being offered housing at either of the school? Are you a traditional student? I don’t know anyone who went to NYU’s real estate program, and I would guess that it were one of their non mainstream programs. If you are comparing that sort of thing to a Temple U mainstream ug program, you are comparing two different things.

The cost difference is definitely significant. For four years at temple it would cost me about 120000 for all four years(includes tuition, housing and meal plan). For NYU it would cost +250000 for all four years. Cost is definitely an issue but I do not want to miss out on the connections I could make at NYU just because Temple is the cheaper option. In terms of the program for Real Estate, this is the first year it’s being offered as a major for undergrads;however the real estate program has existed at NYU for graduate degrees for quite some time now and is highly ranked( 7th in the US).
Also some additional info about me that might help: Even before I got the offer from NYU for their real estate program, I always knew that after I major in finance at temple, I would like to enter the Real Estate field because it’s something I really enjoy. So I’m wondering if maybe going straight to a real estate program where they teach us about real estate finance, marketing, codes, laws etc would be the right stepping stone for me.

I don’t think NYU is worth 130k more.

Are you an international student? Are you paying full cost? And I am really curious as to whether you are being offered housing in the real estate program. If you can pay it, go where you are the happiest. If it’s a loan issue or someone is going to be strapped paying one vs the other, go to the less ex*****ve on. Are these your only choices?

I still don’t get the NYU real estate program as a mainstream one.

I’m from the Philadelphia area and for Temple I would not be paying full costs because I have a 12000 scholarship. The rest of the money to pay for temple would be from loans and a little help from my parents. For NYU I’ll probably be paying full costs and housing is being offered to me as well.

What do you mean by main stream program?
