my ap test scores are really horrible and i'm not going to get any kind of credit for them. should i still put them on the app? or can i choose not to? will they think that i just took the class and not the test?

does that even matter? would the low ap grade hurt me, or would not self-stating them hurt even more?

I would err on the side of self-reporting, but if you're not going to apply for college credit based on your scores, then you could probably leave these ones off and not send a score report. Unless they're included on your high school transcript?

Of course the classes are on the transcript; what I meant was whether the AP test grades are on the transcript. Some high schools do that; some don't. Sorry I was unclear.

As to what they judge, course rigor (the fact that you've taken the AP classes) is one thing they'll look at, and performance (your grades in the classes and scores on the tests) is another. The fact that you took the classes can be an advantage in itself. Obviously, strong test scores would help to back you up. But if you haven't got those and your school won't report the scores you have, then maybe you would be better off just not self-reporting them.

oh, i meant to say just classes were on the transcript. i got an A in them, but during the exam i pretty much freaked, especially for the apush essays.

my apush teacher told our whole class if we took the ap test he wouldn't assign us a final and if we got a 5 we would've given us an A for the semester. everyone, believed in that and took the test, and in the end he said "the administrator said a final is req. sorry guys, i gotta give you one." lol i remember the seat i was assigned to was at the top of the auditorum and the lighting was really low, i actually fell asleep during the test cause of it!
