I participated in this big Chemistry Olympiad test a few months back and I thought it wasn't a big deal. I'm not super good at Chem, it doesn't relate to my major in the slightest. I just want some more things that are interesting on my application to better my chances at getting into my dream school.

I don't know what I placed or if I placed, but I got a certicificate from it and everything today.

Should I put that on my application? Or is it irrevalent. I gave a whole day to take the test so...it'd be nice to know it wasn't all for nothing.

Personally, I always thought that when you’re applying to schools, you’re advertising yourself. So, as long as it’s a positive thing, which it is, I say go for it. The most simple thing may differentiate you from others who are applying. Good luck!

Definitley worth putting on application

was this the local level Chemistry Olympiad? the test was administered ~March.

~10,000 students in US took the test.

Absolutely put it on.

Thanks guys! I guess it never hurts to put it on!

Definitely no need for things to relate to your major. It’s good to show that you have interests outside of the specific field you plan to study.

I agree that this sounds like something worth including.
