Last week, I received my Oct. SAT results - 2060 composite (600 CR, 770 M, 690 W). I'm now debating whether I should take the Nov. SAT next weekend, cuz I'm afraid I might do worse, and some of the colleges will see that (the UCs in particular). What if I end up getting a lower score like a 2020 composite, with no improvement in any section? Won't colleges look down up on that?

Btw, I've taken the SAT twice already (In Jan. this year, I got a 1970 and now Oct. I got a 2060). My superscore is a 2060. I'll be applying to prestigious schools such as Cornell, Stanford, MIT, etc. I have safety schools I've been admitted to already like UC Davis, so no worries. I know a 2060 is a little below avg. for those schools, but my GPA and E/C's are superb (I could potentially be valedictorian and I'm very involved in school. I have hundreds of service hours.)

I honestly don't feel like my score will improve immensely in a 1 month duration, however. What do you all think?

Don’t retake it in one month. I would suggest studying for at least a few months and see if you can improve immensely. If not, then don’t retake it since this is already your 3rd take.

I’m don’t think he has that kind of time. I’m assuming you are a senior. If that is the case, I strongly advise you to take them again. A 2060 is quite a bit below average for the schools you listed.

yes… i mean if they are considereing all scores, I think you can answer that question yourself. But as a few words of advice, if your applying to schools like that, you need better scores, and if I were you, I’d study my ass off and pull off something better in a month. It can definitely be done in a month if you make the time.

Glad to hear your gpa is strong, but your SAT score seems awfully low for someone with a strong gpa. I know those schools you mentioned don’t have a minimum score, but I do think you aren’t within their numbers. You might want to consider something in-between your SMC reaches and UC-Davis.
